Special care is required in the shipment of framed items, both modern and vintage. Any framed item purchased can be disassembled per customer request, in order to remove the glass. This means that the backing and the glass will be removed and it is the customer's responsibility to replace it and have the backing put back on. Any frame shop should be able to do this for you.
If you choose to have us ship the item with the glass in the frame, we will make every attempt to insure that the glass will reach you safely, but we cannot guarantee it and we are not responsible for any breakage due to mishandling by UPS or the USPS. Also, any damage incurred to the document/print/photograph etc. due to the breakage of glass is the responsiblity of the customer.
Those framed items which contain plexiglass do not require its removal.
Thank you,
The Owners and Staff of The Horse Soldier
