Measures 7 ¼” x 9 ½”. 2 pages, ink. “Chief Enrolling Office, 3d District, N.C., Goldsboro, April 30, 1864”.  Shows light wear, staining at the edges. This sentimental ballad was written by Caroline A. Mason and S.M. Grannis.

Signed by A. F. Mallett, Thomas J. Wilson, O.A. White, W.H. Hodnett, W.J. Gilbert, all were Assistant Surgeons or Surgeons serving on the Confederate States Medical Staff. White was also Surgeon of the 3^rd South Carolina Light Artillery, and Mallett also served as a Surgeon of the 11^th Tennessee Infantry.
