CIVIL WAR PERCUSSION CAP POUCH BY S.H. YOUNG, NEWARK, NJ

$125.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1137-20

This is a Civil War-era percussion cap pouch.

This pattern has the closing tab as a continuation of the outer flap. This latch tab is unbroken. Oval sub-inspector’s stamp lightly visible of front amid major loss of finish. The interior flap has both “ears” firmly sewn in place. Clearly stamped “S.H. YOUNG / & CO. / NEWARK / N.J.” Fleece and nipple pick remain. Bottom has brass finial.

Both narrow belt loops remain in place on back and are stitched and riveted in place. All stitching remains strong and intact.

A very nice Civil War cap pouch that shows use.  [jet]  [ph:L]
