This is a very nice example of a very detailed and scarcely found Confederate note featuring the image of General Stonewall Jackson on the bottom right as well as an equestrian statue of Washington on the left. Serial number was machine printed in black ink and reads “15936.” This note was issued February 17th 1864.
This bill has certainly been circulated as it shows a crease down the center of the bill. At the top of the crease is a very small nick. A small tear is present on the right of the top edge above the “5” in “500.” Despite these two minor detractors, the overall condition is very good.
The plain reverse shows two small ink dots but nothing else to note. [cla][ph:L]
