$50 note of the Confederate States of America featuring a bust view of Jefferson Davis front and center. Machine typed serial number 4367 appears twice, on either side of the Confederate President. This note was issued at Richmond on February 17th 1864. It is signed by L. Courtney for the register, and by Cottonis for the Treasurer.
The note itself is in very good condition. The top edge has been trimmed a bit wide whereas the bottom edge has been trimmed very close. Both edges are trimmed a bit crooked. There is one very small nick to the top edge.
The reverse shows some minor staining along the edges. However, the blue coloration is still bright. [cla][ph:L]
