This is an 1880 campaign token for Democratic nominee Winfield S. Hancock. Winfield Scott Hancock was a Union General in the Civil War, a hero at Gettysburg, and was the Democratic nominee for President in 1880. He was defeated by Republican James A. Garfield.
Front features a raised bust of Hancock. Reverse reads “VICTORY / 1880” around a central game cock and a small 2nd Corps badge. Approximately 1” in diameter. Very nice condition. [jet] [ph:L]
