“For Value received for Use of the State of MASSACHUSETTS-BAY I do in behalf of said State hereby promise and oblige myself and Successors in the Office of Treasurer to pay to the Possessor of this Note the Sum of Fifteen Pounds…..by the First Day of January, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty three, with Interest of Six per Cent per Annum:--The Interest to be paid Annually. Signed by: “L.J. Scollay/ Edward Green/Committee,” and “H.J. Gardner, Treasurer.”
