Early war bond issued from the Confederate Capital at Richmond, Virginia. The bond is dated August 19, 1861 and is number 109. The center design at the top is a bust view of Thomas H. Watts, Attorney General of the Confederacy, surrounded by three maidens. The printer of this bond is unknown. At the bottom are 11 coupons. The first was redeemable July 1, 1865 and the last on July 1, 1870. Only 877 of these bonds were issued. Bond is in good condition and all ink inscriptions are readable. The upper left corner has what looks like a small piece of another document that stuck to it.
