Flat, one piece coat size button. Button depicts the north star, symbolism prevalent for Maine until the 1830's but never officially adopted as the state seal. This variant features a small star on lined field surrounded by 17 stars and a border. Backmark: "BEST PLATED (in script) / LONDON" dm two inner rings. Very fine condition. Shank present.
