This coat sized button has the spread-winged eagle as found on the General Service button but the shield on the eagle’s chest has the letter “D” for Dragoon.
The face of the button still retains all of its gilt and may have been slightly cleaned.
The reverse has the shank and a depressed mark that reads “SCOVILL MF’G CO.WATERBURY.” Reverse also show signs of having been lightly cleaned.
