Two piece convex button, coat size. Seal of South Carolina, a palmetto tree with "S C". The Latin word "opibusque" is misspelled "opirusque", a die maker's error. BM: "HORSTMANN & ALLIEN / (dot) NY (dot)", dm between two solid rings, inner ring of rays. Shank present. Semi-bright gilt patina. Very good condition. Albert's SC14, Tice's SC258A1.
