Common accoutrement from the Civil War time frame (ca. 1860s) is this eye-catching cobalt blue glass inkwell. The rectangular-size inkwell is unmarked and measures 2¼” x 1¾” with a base that tapers slightly.   Device stands 2” tall with spout. Inkwell is in good-plus condition overall with some slight chipping at the spout brim and one small flake chip at the bottom base edge.  Exterior surface is smooth, hard and free of cracking or breaks.  Handsome piece.
