Classic Civil War era pint capacity, three piece molded black glass ale or porter bottle.  Bottles of this type and size are commonly found in camp sites and winter quarters of both the Union and Confederate armies.  This example stands 9 ½” tall and is 2 ½” in diameter across the base.  There are some surface scratches along the sides of this bottle, along with some dirt and base scratches.  No chips or cracks noted. Great period item to have for your camp display.
