Published in 1871 in Trenton by J.A. Beecher, this first edition regimental history is in good, complete condition.  Commonly only found in its second generation printing by the State of New Jersey, this edition was compiled by Henry R. Pyne, regimental chaplain and published privately nearly 40 years before its second mass printing in 1910.

This regimental has a fine plate engraving of governor Charles Smith Olden by artist Emily Sartain of Philadelphia on the second leaf, an intact onion skin buffer leaf and a full color engraving of the regiment’s tattered battle flag.

Found inside the book was a newspaper clipping glued to a piece of cardstock that details Mrs. Mary Trawick, a 111-year-old widow of an American Revolutionary war veteran from Atlanta, Georgia, apparently from 1911.

The cover of the book is in excellent condition with minor wear only to the binding.  Six very small wormholes are noted but only observable in close proximity.  All leaf edges are in great condition with no fraying, tearing, or staining.
