It provides the listing of over 8,400 different pieces, containing several new merchants, new obverse and reverse dies, new metal and edge varieties, and many more. Photos of these merchants and dies, reverse die proofs, die conversion tables, and an alphabetical index are included in this work. In the end of the book is a catalog of unlisted Civil War store cards in the collection of the American Numismatic Society.
