Robert Whyte Bedford—22 years of age, a resident of Nashville, TN— is listed in the Historical Register and Dictionary of the U.S. Army as having accepted a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the 14th United States Infantry, 3/31/1847, serving under Colonel William Truesdale & General Winfield Scott. He is also listed as having died 6/13/1848.
