These three volumes were originally part of a four volume set written by Steffen covering the US Cavalry from 1776 to 1943. The three volumes present are:
1.) THE REVOLUTION, THE WAR OF 1812, THE EARLY FRONTIER 1776-1850. Volume meas. approx. 9.00 x 12.00 inches and runs 195 pages with index. Hardcover bound in blue cloth with a dustjacket that shows some fading and light chipping on the top of the spine. Interior is clean.
2.) THE FRONTIER, THE MEXICAN WAR, THE CIVIL WAR, THE INDIAN WAR 1851-1880. Volume meas. approx. 9.00 x 12.00 inches and runs 215 pages with index. Hardcover bound in blue cloth with a dustjacket that shows some fading and light chipping on the top of the spine. Back lower corner has a small missing chip. Interior is clean.
3.) THE LAST OF THE INDIAN WARS, THE SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR, THE BRINK OF THE GREAT WAR 1881-1916. Volume meas. approx. 9.00 x 12.00 inches and runs 268 pages with index. Hardcover bound in blue cloth with a dustjacket that shows some fading and light a small tear on the top of the spine. Top edges show some waviness. Interior is clean.
All volumes are profusely illustrated with black & white line drawings and some colored plates.
The set is only missing Volume 4 which covers the World Wars from 1917-1943.
