Full title is “FROM PHILIPPI TO APPOMATTOX- NARRATIVE OF THE SERVICE OF THE SEVENTH INDIANA INFANTRY IN THE WAR FOR THE UNION.” by Orville Thomson, and reprinted by Butternut & Blue of Baltimore, Maryland in 1993 as part of their Army of the Potomac series.
Hardcover is bound in green cloth with the title in gold on the cover with a full color 1st Division, 1st Corps badge. All is repeated on the spine. Covers are in excellent condition.
Volume meas. approx. 5.50 x 7.50 inches and runs 200 pages with a 42 page roster and an unpaginated index.
Binding is excellent. Interior is like new.
The 7th Indiana was organized in September of 1861 and served with both the Army of Virginia and the Army of the Potomac.
The regiment was engaged at Port Republic, Cedar Mountain, 2nd Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Cold Harbor and Petersburg.
During its service the regiment lost 10 officers and 218 enlisted men killed, died of wounds and disease. [ad] [ph:L]
