The full title of this volume is “HISTROY OF THE ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTIETH REGIMENT PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEERS. SECOND REGIMENT, BUCTAIL BRIGADE.” Title page also says that it is the revised and enlarged edition, with complete roster.

The author is Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Chamberlin of the regiment. The book was published in Philadelphia in 1905.

Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 6.50 x 9.50 inches and runs 368 pages with index and 73 black & white portraits.

Covers are a very dark green with the title embossed in strong gold around an embossed forage cap with Fifth Corps badge and bucktail. Title and author’s name with white ink library markings on the spine. Both front and back covers are good and show only light wear. Binding is good even though front signature is cracked. Interior is clean but for some scattered library stampings. Tucked inside the roster in the back of the book are two reproduction photos of soldiers in the regiment with the family name of “Otto.”

The 150th Pennsylvania was raised in September of 1862 and served in the 1^st and 5^th Corps with Company K detached and serving in the 22^nd Corps as Presidential Body Guard from February of 1863 through the end of the war. The regiment was engaged at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor and the siege of Petersburg. The regiments heaviest loss came at Gettysburg where the tally was 257 men killed, wounded and captured, including one of the regimental standards. For the war, the regiment’s total loss in killed and died of wounds and disease was 5 officer and 202 enlisted men, not to mention many more wounded and survived.
