Full title of this work is “THE JAMES E. TAYLOR SKETCHBOOK – WITH SHERIDAN UP THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY, LEAVES FROM AN ARTIST SKETCHBOOK AND DIARY” by James E. Taylor, sketch artist for Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper and printed by Morningside Books of Dayton, Ohio in 1989.
Hardcover is bound in blue, gold and cream cloth with the title in gold on the front cover and repeated on the spine. Front cover includes full color crossed US and CS flags. Covers are in excellent condition. Illustrated paper dustjacket has some minor edgewear and several small separations.
Volume meas. approx. 12.00 x 9.00 inches and runs approx. 631 pages.
Binding is excellent. Interior is like new.
This volume is full of sketches done at the time of Sheridan’s Shenandoah campaign along with some commentary by Taylor as well as several present-day Civil War historians. [ad] [PH:L]
