The full title of this volume is “HISTORY SIXTY-FIRST REGIMENT PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEERS 1861-1865” by A. T. Brewer.
This volume was published in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1911.
Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 6.50 x 9.75 inches and runs 234 pages with roster. The volume also has 5 black & white photographs.
Front signature is a bit fatigued but holding well and should be okay for some time to come. Blue cloth boards have very light surface dirt. Cover has the title in gold within a keystone shaped border. Volume comes housed in a very nice specially made slipcase of blue cloth with the title and author in gold on the spine.
The 61st was organized in September of 1861 and served with the 4th and 6th Corps of the Army of the Potomac. They were engaged on the Peninsula, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Petersburg, Fort Stevens, Winchester, Fisher’s Hill Cedar Creek, the siege of Petersburg and the Appomattox campaign. The regiment lost 20 officers and 318 enlisted men killed, died of wounds and disease. [AD] [PH:L]
