The full title of this volume is “HISTORY OF THE CORN EXCHANGE REGIMENT 118TH PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEERS FROM THEIR FIRST ENGAGEMENT AT ANTIETAM TO APPOMATTOX TO WHICH IS ADDED A RECORD OF ITS ORGANIZATION AND A COMPLETE ROSTER FULLY ILLUSTRATED WITH MAPS PORTRAITS AND OVER ONE HUNDRED ILLUSTRATIONS.”
The history was put together by the Regimental Survivors Association and was published in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1888.
Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches. The history runs 746 pages. The volume also has several black & white portraits and woodcuts.
Covers are maroon with the title embossed in strong gold on the spine. Covers show no wear.
The 118th Pennsylvania Infantry was organized in August of 1862 and served in the 5th Corps of the Army of the Potomac. They saw action in every campaign from Antietam to Appomattox losing 10 officers and 243 enlisted men killed, died of wounds and disease. [AD] [PH:L]
