The full title of this volume is “MOSBY’S RANGERS: A RECORD OF THE OPERATIONS OF THE FORTY-THIRD BATTALION OF VIRGINIA CAVALRY FROM ITS ORGANIZATION TO THE SURRENDER” by James J. Williams of Company A. Title page states that this is a second edition revised and enlarged. Printed by Sturgis & Walton of New York.
Volume meas. approx. 6.50 x 9.00 inches and runs 554 pages with index. Covers are green cloth and show considerable wear on the edges with fading and light staining. Cover has title in gold ink with crossed revolvers below. Spine also has title.
Volume is profusely illustrated with many photographs of members of the battalion. Binding is strong. Two or three pages have edge wear and one or two have tears but all are present.
This is a good reading copy of a rare volume and is one of the best histories of Mosby’s men. [ad]
