Nice leather bound volume in very good condition. Exterior covers show light wear with minor surface dirt and small amounts of rubbing on the edges. Spine has the title stamped in gold over a maroon background. Volume meas. approx. 7.00 x 10 inches.
Interior is in good condition, is bound well and runs 843 pages with index. Endpapers are marbled. First page has a period ink inscription that reads “JOHN W. PULSIFER / THOMAS FLAT / JAN 3d 1868.” The full title “THE MILITARY AND NAVAL HISTORY OF THE REBELLION IN THE UNITED STATES WITH BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF DECEASED OFFICERS” BY W. J. Tenney and published by D. Appleton & Company of New York.
The book covers the entire war and has several maps and steel engravings. [ad]
