Paper bound pamphlet titled “…HEROISM… OF THE AMERICAN VOLUNTEER” by St. Clair A. Mulholland. The title runs 40 pages and discusses the actions at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Salem Church, Gettysburg and the Wilderness.

Mulholland, who rose from Major of the 116th Pennsylvania to Major General was wounded four times during the war and won the Medal of Honor at Chancellorsville. He explains in a short introduction that the information in the pamphlet was originally published in a Philadelphia newspaper but has since become unobtainable. In response to inquiries and requests for copies he published this little work in 1904.

The paper has browned throughout; the front cover is detached, and the back cover is working loose as the original binding is just three large staples. There are several illustrations and the condition overall is good. A readable copy.
