Haversack is made entirely of white linen. The body and sling are all original. The underside of the flap has the faint remains a maker’s mark that would also show the item was produced for the state of Massachusetts. However, none of the mark is readable.
The body of the haversack meas. approx. 10.50 inches at its widest by 9.00 inches high. Sewn to the body are two bone buttons which hold the flap closed.
Interior of the body has two buttons that anchors the lining to the inside.
Linen sling is approx. 1.25 inches wide and is sewn to the bag at each end.
Linen is in excellent condition and just shows some light surface dirt and darkening from age and storage. [ad][ph:L]
