Wood trail spike with iron reinforced base meas. approx. 62.00 inches long.
The wood spike is round at the top with a lower section that is octagonal and ends with an iron wrapped rectangle at the very bottom. The wood is in excellent solid condition. Wood surface shows remains of the original arsenal paint. Iron has moderate surface rust.
This spike was used to move the trail of a heavy cannon so its barrel could traverse horizontally. [ad][ph:L]
