Photo was taken from the top of a hill looking down onto a plain at the foot of a high wooded hill. Spread along the plain is a US Army camp. The camp consists of 10 rows of eight dark colored Sibley tents with stoves protruding from the top. Scattered around the camp are white “A” tents, several wedge tents and in the distant background is a covered wagon park. With a loop some formations of soldiers can be seen standing in one of the Company streets. This is most likely an infantry camp.

Image is mounted on gray stock that meas. approx. 11.75 x 10.00 inches. Lower right corner is chipped. The image itself meas. approx. 8.50 x 6.50 inches.  [ad][ph:L]
