Paper wrapper stenciled in large black ink “8.5” and holds five Civil War fuses. Wrapper has minor edge tears; original string holds the pack closed.

Recent research by several artillery collectors believe that these fuse packs were rewrapped with surplus US and CS Civil War paper time fuses shortly after the Civil War. Further research is needed to verify.  [ws]
