Under the handle is 8 Lgt 12 PDR / GUN SHELL / FIXED / FUSES & / FRICTION PRIMERS / RICHMOND ARSENAL / 1861. Wearing light in spots but all distinct and clear. Ruggedly made box with dovetail construction and cut nails. Lacks lid and hinges.
