This stand of grape is all original and is for use in a 6-inch gun. The top and bottom plates are iron and meas. approx. 6.00 inches across by 0.25 inch thick. Between the two plates are three rows of three inch iron balls wrapped in iron wire.
The condition of the item is good. It appears to have been dug and repainted. The balls are pock-marked with pitting as are the plate edges. The wire wrap also shows some thinning from material loss but it is still a very solid piece.
