Brown leather haversack, with “Watertown / Arsena l/ 1864 / US”, stamped on front flap. Haversack measures 13” in height, front flap 14.5” in width. Has buckled shoulder strap, stitched to reverse [one flap secure, the other torn loose]. Front flap finial strap torn at bottom, lower buckle intact. Haversack leather exhibits light wear & rubbing at the extremities, else VG. Shoulder strap leather good & supple. Stitching tight all round. In all, a fine collectible. Artillery haversacks with crisp arsenal markings are extremely scarce.
