Heavy iron cylindrical bucket meas. approx. 9.00 inches tall x 8.25 inches across. The top and bottom both have a re-enforced iron band riveted in place. Attached to the top of the bucket by a heavy chain is a circular lid made of wood with an iron spine running across it at center. The edges of the spine extend past the wood and allow the lid to lock in place. Attached to the top is a heavy iron arched handle with short chain. The body has some of the original black paint showing but there are also numerous rust spots. None of the rust has worn a hole through the piece. It is still solid.
