Sword meas. approx. 38.00 inches long from pommel to point. The blade meas. approx. 32.00 inches long with a semi-bright surface. There is a central stopped fuller that meas. approx. 29.75 inches long. Blade exhibits some pitting near the point and scattered mottling. There is no etching. The edge has several nicks.
The cast brass hilt is tight and features an imitation wire-wrapped ribbed grip. Pommel is globular with a low capstan-style rivet. At the point where the knucklebow / quillon crosses the blade there rests a brass cast, double, clam shell-shaped counterguard with the inner guard turned downward. Brass does show some small areas of cleaning but most of the surface has a nice dark patina.
Leather scabbard is missing the drag and 6.00 inches from the bottom. The brass throat is present and shows wear from age, use and storage and some partial cleaning. Leather has moderate surface finish loss and is slightly crazed but otherwise what remains is good. [ad]
