Original United Confederate Veteran’s ribbon for the Georgia Division’s Reunion in Augusta, Georgia from November 12-13, 1907.
This is a three-piece badge with ribbon. The top bar is made of stamped brass and measures 2 1/8” long by ½” wide. Suspended from the brass bar is a red and white silk ribbon. On the ribbon, in blue, is “REUNION/ GEORGIA/ DIVISION/ U.C.V./ AUGUSTA, GA./ NOV 12-13. 1907.” A button pin with cross Confederate flags is attached to the bottom of the ribbon. The badge in its entirety measures 4 ½”.
On reverse, the pin moves smoothing in and out of the fascinator. The ribbon is folded over and in very faint writing “HYATT MFG CO. BALT MD” is stamped along the seam. The back of the button pin has Greco Roman pillars with banners that read “CONSTITUTION/ WISDOM/ JUSTICE/ MODERATION” and a revolutionary war era soldier on the bottom right. [ mc] [ph:L]
