Coin meas. approx. 1.50 inches across. Obverse has a bust in profile of Major General Gouverneur K. Warren in the uniform of a Major General. The bust is surrounded by the inscription “MAJ. GEN. G. K. WARREN-1864.” Reverse has a 5th Corps Maltese cross at center surrounded by “COMMANDER OF THE 5TH CORPS-ARMY OF THE POTOMAC.” The bust of Warren is very well done and has some nice detail. The back has moderate discoloration from age and exposure to the elements over the years. Appears to be made of thick brass.
