Here is a fine Civil War officer’s hat cord in wonderful original condition. The accoutrement is a pleasing combination of black and brown thread interwoven with gold bright and all-dead bullion thread that produced a fine uniform accessory. The rolled, cord-like bullion material measures approximately 28” in length, is ¼” wide in diameter, and features two handsome and fine acorn-shaped tassel ends, intricately tightly braided in gold bullion. Cord ends slip through the bullion knot adjuster to fit the base of the crown on the officer’s slouch hat. Entire hat cord is in fine condition with no pulls, rips, or fraying. A handsome specimen. These officer uniform accessories are becoming difficult to find. A fine, officer’s original hat cord.
