Wartime bust view of Major General Alexander S. Webb, who commanded the Philadelphia Brigade of Hancock’s Second Corps positioned along Cemetery Ridge at Gettysburg, an action for which he was awarded the medal of honor in 1891.
This image is in great condition and is clear with no foxing and good contrast. There is a small spot of surface dirt in the upper right corner which does not detract from the image in any way.
There is very minor damage present on the upper and lower right-hand corners of the mount.
Reverse shows backmark of a gryphon and shield above “O.H. Willard’s Galleries, 1206 Chestnut Street, No… PHILA.”
Modern collector information is present in pencil. [cls]
