Bust view CDV of John Fulton Reynolds, Commander of the 1st Corps and hero of the battle of Gettysburg. It was Reynolds, along with cavalryman John Buford who decided that Gettysburg was the place for the Union Army to stand and fight during Lee’s invasion of Pennsylvania. A decision Reynolds paid for with his life. The Generals career has been much publicized over the years and is well-known.

This image is clear with good contrast but there is some light surface dirt and the edges of the mount have been trimmed.

Reverse has photographer’s imprint for E. & H.T. ANTHONY with collector’s information in pencil.
