1820’S MILITIA EAGLE BELT PLATE

This clipped corner plate is slightly convex and meas. approx. 3.00 x 1.75 inches. The face has a stamped spread-winged eagle with a patriotic shield on its chest. Stamping is very good.

The reverse has a wide brass tongue and a brass loop attached with a sheet brass base.

Item is in good condition with a dark patina and some light surface dirt.  [AD]
