Blue and white plate features images of Gen. Robert E. Lee, Gen. Geo. G. Meade, Gen. Lee’s Headquarters, Gen. Meade’s Headquarters, the Pennsylvania State Memorial, and at the top center, the Third National Confederate flag and the U.S. flag, with the years, “1863-1915” in between. Wording above images reads, “FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, JULY 1-2-3-4”.
Plate measures 7 ¾” in diameter. Very good condition with no cracks or chips. Reverse has maker’s mark that reads, “THE ADAMS SERIES SOUVENIR, W. ADAMS & CO. TURNSTALL ENGLAND, ESTD. 1857, MADE IN ENGKLAND, ACBE CO.”.
This is a nice, vintage Gettysburg collectible. It is especially rare to find items marked from the 50th anniversary. [SL]
