The Model 1891 was designed by Salvator Carcano and adopted by Italy in 1932 as their standard service rifle. It has a 30.6-inch barrel and is chambered for the 6.5x52 mm. It is a bolt action and has a Mannlicher clip-loading magazine. Stock is full length with a half-length handguard. Rear sight is tangent. Early versions have the area behind the sight is octagonal. Produced by the Brescia, Terni, Roma, Torino and Beretta arsenals. Post 1922 models have Roman numerals stamped on the barrel flat denoting the year of Mussolini rule.

This is an early Model 1891 manufactured by the Terni arsenal. Stock and the finish have been refurbished, probably for WW2.
