This bayonet was made for issue with the Remington “Zouave” rifle. Its graceful 20 3/16” inch slightly curved blade is 1 1/16” in width and 5/16” thick, with small “H” stamped on the reverse flat just forward of the guard. Blade exhibits two inches of light to medium pitting just forward of the guard, but is brilliantly bright thereon to the tip. Brass hilt exhibits medium coppery patina and displays the standard "B.H.” marking just to the rear of the guard. The scabbard is 20.625” in overall length with black leather body and brass mountings. The leather displays cracking & flaking & is moderately fragile. The mounting displays dark coppery patina. Else VG. Solid “Zouave” bayonet.
