This piece, numbered 1 of 5, signed by the artist and dated 1986, was fashioned after exhaustive research by the artist into the life and achievements of the hero of Bryce’s Crossing, Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Murfreesboro, Harper’s Bridge and Chickamauga. It has been judged for its historical accuracy and excellence of workmanship against the most exacting of standards.
Statue’s base is approx. 7 ½” x 7” at largest points; stands approx. 9” tall. A plaque attached to the front of the base of the statue reads, “NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST / * THE DECISION MAKER *”.
Accompanied by separate wooden base measuring 10” x 9”; also with a flier for the non-painted version of the statue from the now defunct American Print Gallery of Gettysburg, and a Collector’s Certificate of authenticity from the Gettysburg Military Society. [ld]
